West Point "W" Mint Mark
The U.S. Mint struck 2 million Salt River Bay quarters at the West Point Mint with a "W" mint mark on the obverse. These were randomly mixed into circulation, creating a "treasure hunt" effect for collectors. The 2020-W Salt River Bay quarter is the second rarest issue in the series after the 2020-W Tallgrass Prairie quarter.
"V75" Privy Mark
Some of the West Point quarters feature a small "V75" privy mark to the right of Washington‘s neck. This indicates their inclusion in a special set issued for the 75th anniversary of the end of World War II. Only 17,400 Salt River Bay quarters with the "V75" privy mark were produced, making them the scarcest variety.
