Rare Original Vintage Retro 1990's Shellys London Messenger Bag. Founded in 1945, Shellys quickly became the go-to destination for cutting edge footwear, with its famous stores emerging as a haven for London's fashion scene. Throughout the 70's and 80's, Shellys London became synonymous with British subculture style. Collaborations with designers such as John Galliano, Vivienne Westwood and Jean Paul Gaultier cemented the company's positioning as one of the most pioneering British footwear brands. Bought by myself from the Shellys London flagship store on Oxford Street in the 1990's, this robust, gusseted shoulder bag measures 32cm x 34cm x 11cm. It is produced in a strong, dark blue, water resistant fabric. It features a front slit pocket and a larger main inner pouch.The flap-over cover features the Shellys London logo thickly embroidered in gold thread. The top of the bag has a strong reinforced black handle and the bag comes complete with its original black nylon shoulder strap with comfort pad and adjuster. The base of the bag retains all four plastic feet. In good condition, with only minor storage wear. A rare survivor, this iconic messenger bag is the perfect addition to any Shellys shoe collection - it is a must for the fashionista, hipster, or collector. Will give a clean before sending as been in storage.
