This is a really unusual vintage necklace in a Victorian style similar to Austro Hungarian jewellery. The necklace is well made and very ornate. It is, I believe, made of a silver coloured base metal, with details featuring gilt, black and white enamel. The faux gemstones are a beautiful purple shade and mimic amethyst. The necklace comprises of a chain of decorative links, with an eye catching central feature consisting of 4 butterfly-shaped links set with faux gems, and a larger centre panel with delicate scrolling work and 4 gems, that has a further pendant drop attached, which is also set with a faux amethyst. The necklace is in good condition, although the original fastening has been replaced (see photos for this). The new fastening is a sprung clasp and works well. This necklace is 39.5cm long and has a drop of approximately 26cm from the neckline. It will be delivered to you in a gift pouch. Reasonable offers will be considered.
