This is a Akai X-1800SD is a 4-track stereo reel to reel tape recorder with an integral 8-track cartridge recorder. Solid-state semiconductors based with internal stereo speakers powered by internal amplifiers. The open-reel section of the Akai X-1800SD features a 4-track stereo/monaural recording/playback system, while the cartridge section features 8-track stereo recording/playback. In excellent condition. Almost new cosmetically. Both the reels and the 8 track play with warm sound. The pots are good and move freely with minimal crackle. The reels and 8 track play at proper speed, but sometimes the reels need adjustment between play and stop. The Fast Forward and Rewind features work, and all of the back lights illuminate.
